Bangers! 22 Extra Tips! Epic 008!
Welcome to YOUR Pickleball Journey!
This is an oldie but a goodie!
Tip #1 - Readiness!
Staying ready and alert at the kitchen is important no matter who you play against. Keep your paddle up and out in front. Stay compact and stay ready!
Keeping your paddle out in front starts the mental chain of being ready, force yourself to make it a habit… or else!
Tip #2 - Avoid Out Balls!
Letting balls go is one of the most important skills in pickleball! Not only do you save yourself time and energy, but you also make your opponents tone down their big swings and heavy hits!
Tip #3 - Hit the ball low!
If your block, or counter to a drive is high and floaty, the ball bounces higher allowing them to hit down at your waist, or they can crash in and volley out of the air!

TIP #1 - Reset Cross Court!
When you reset straight in front of you, your opponent is likely already leaning forward waiting to apply more pressure continuously. Resetting cross court allows you and your partner to get to the kitchen and neutralize the point.
TIP #2 - Handle an Aggressive Dink!
Instead of dropping the top of your paddle to the ground reaching for an aggressive dink, try putting your paddle parallel to the ground. You’ll have to anticipate and move your feet a little more this way, but this method avoids dead dinks and pop ups!
TIP #3 - Defending a Smash!
As soon as you see a ball is popped up from your team, take a large split step back, get low, and keep your paddle down towards your knees or lower! This helps you be ready for fast, hard to anticipate overheads! Give yourself those needed milliseconds!

Tip #1 - Prep for Success!
The little things before a tournament are important. For example, making sure you bring water and electrolytes, a towel for sweat, eating food not too long or too soon before play!
(Healthy food is ideal of course!)
Tip #2 - Always Guess Middle!
If you’re not sure where your opponent is going to hit the ball next, always guess middle! The center line is not only an easy target for you and your partner, but also your opponents! For dinks, drives, drops, overheads, all of the above.
Tip #3 - Hit Majority of Your Drops Cross-Court!
Think of it this way, is it easier for you to return/attack a cross-court or middle drop from your opponent?
Cross-Court is best because if your opponent’s want to apply a ton of pressure they have to take off some pace in order to keep the ball in. When you can attack a middle ball down middle, it’s safer to crush right?
